Capacity-Building Program for Community Organizations (CBPCO)
Pourquoi le programme de renforcement des capacités des organismes communautaires

-
- Firstly, we help managers to better manage their organizations. They learn how to strengthen their capacities through theoretical and hands-on training in the management of human, financial, and material resources, project management, and leadership, We also assist them in learning how to better organize their internal services, such as secretarial and accounting.
-
- Secondly, we assist organizations in implementing their own education and training projects for communities. We specifically intervene in areas such as functional literacy and numeracy, general and reproductive health, citizens’ rights and duties, food and nutrition, family budgeting, environmental protection, agriculture, and animal husbandry.
In developing countries, there exist countless community organizations created to tackle the problems faced by disadvantaged communities. They work to provide appropriate solutions to improve the living conditions of the communities they serve. These organizations - associations, groups, cooperatives, etc. - should have a considerably positive impact in their various fields of intervention. However, such a result depends on the means at their disposal and the quality of the work that is done in the field.
The concept of poverty is used so often to become almost commonplace. And yet, poverty remains the distressing reality of disadvantaged communities in West Africa. The socio-economic and cultural conditions have even worsened in a globalized world. That community organizations are slow to achieve the expected impact raises questions about the means at their disposal, their skills and abilities, and their sense of collaboration in achieving their objectives and goals. In 2016, SODEV International investigated on more than 40 organizations specialized in education and training. This revealed that most of them lack adequate human, financial, and material resources. For example, many organizations working in education often do not have adequate teaching or learning tools.
