Invalid’s Assistance Project (IAP)

IAP is one aspect of the Program for People in Need (PNP), the purpose of which is to relieve the suffering of vulnerable people such as abandoned children and health care patients who need support.

Through this project, we help hospital and clinic inpatients who need temporary support, perhaps to act as or relieve a family member functioning as a nurse or similar helper or respond to the need of a health center for additional care for a patient without family support. There are eligibility requirements for patients and health centers. The assistance is provided by a nurse for 24 to 72 hours, who performs tasks negotiated between SODEV International, the health center, the nurse and representatives of the patient's family. The agreement is documented in a contract. Our organization covers transport costs and remuneration of the helper, with support from its technical and financial partners. The purpose of the IAP is to ease the recovery of patients by helping them with some of their daily activities. The nurse, who must be qualified, may be female or male; the goal is to ensure their physical and moral well-being.

Patient and Helper Eligibility

Both patients and helpers must meet certain conditions to receive assistance from SODEV International. We will be happy to provide further information.
