Dear Friends,

The main reason for creating SODEV International was that I wanted to contribute to the fight against the multidimensional poverty that continues to claim victims despite the various developments that humanity is experiencing. In West Africa for example, most people suffer from various forms of this scourge. It is a situation that calls out to us and causes reactions and actions for the well-being of the communities. One of these actions is the creation of our organization.

At SODEV, the type of poverty we are fighting is ignorance, inexperience, and incompetency. It is the poverty of culture, knowledge, education, education, training that impedes the growth of any nation. And this poverty is serious because it breeds many others. Not having skills or knowledge mutilates intelligence and being and makes it difficult to produce goods useful to others and to oneself. In fact, the lack of education is a great pain of the poor.

The challenge is daunting and to face it requires corresponding, well-adapted solutions. We do not yet have all these solutions, but to achieve progress, we are putting in place a range of programs and projects aimed at a sustainable socio-economic development of those we serve, especially rural communities and their leaders, artisans, and other individual entrepreneurs. For greater impact, we are implementing a capacity building program for non-governmental organizations that share our vision.

I would like to urge you to invest in the development of communities that have suffered too much and give them the chance to offer the best of themselves. I dare say that we have action programs that are commensurate to the challenges we face. However, the expected results require means that conviction and perseverance alone cannot provide. So please help us financially, technically and materially to get a whole world out of poverty.
